Position: Business Intelligence Specialist
Reports To: Vice President of Professional Services
Location: Major Metropolitan Areas Available
Compensation: Commensurate with level of experience
The Opportunity:
The Riskonnect, Inc. Client Services organization has an immediate opening for a Business Intelligence Specialist based. Responsibilities consist of implementing new customers and configuring Riskonnect products against specific client requirements.
Riskonnect is an emerging growth software vendor that develops and markets a suite of enterprise risk management applications. You will be responsible and held accountable for implementation of the entire Riskonnect risk management suite of software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop Framework Model for ad hoc queries, reports, and dashboards
- Design Cognos reports using prompts and conditional layouts
- Design set of standard reports used across multiple clients
- Document BI standards, guidelines and best practices
- Work with Project Managers to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Break implementation timeframe boundaries with highly confidential “go live” methodology and strategic work platform
- Work closely with Data Integration group to ensure the highest possible data integrity strategies
- Work with Development and Sales teams to enhance and validate the product roadmap
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from 4 year college or university
- 2-4 years Business Intelligence authoring experience – Cognos preferred
- Good understanding of dimensional database modeling concepts
- Proficient with Business Intelligence development enviroment, preferred Cognos 8 BI tool including Framework Manager, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Event Studio, Metrics Studio, and Query Studio
- Proficient in SQL query writing
- Experience creating advanced reports in Cognos including multiple prompts, drill down, and conditional layouts
- Experience creating frameworks for new databases
- Experience with MS SQL , MS Access, MS Excel, and other data discovery tools
- Perform business process troubleshooting and problem solving
- Contribute to establishing best practices for report development
- Able to generate detailed documentation for work product
- Multi-lingual a plus
